Cute Sleepy Sloth

Colby's Exotic Pets Exhibit

8/25/06

My dad took me to this interesting pet place.  There were monkeys, lemurs, honey bears, bobcats, coati and porcupines there.  And there was a red kangaroo.  I fed him from a bottle and pet him.   I got to pet a lemur named Velcro.  He liked chewing on this bottle.  My favorite aminal was the 3 month old lemur.  She was so cute.  I wanted to take her home.

Beach Trip Critters

6/30-7/09/06

We went to the beach and Uncle Thabo and I caught sand crabs.  On the way home from the beach we went to an Ostrich Ranch.  We fed ostriches and deer.  Then at a gas station I caught a little green frog.  They bury themselves in the ground and come out when it's been raining.

Baby Bird

6/11/06

This is a baby bird that I found by bunny hopper.  My daddy put it back in it's nest.  It was really cute.  It really liked me.

Butterfly

6/6/06

Today I got to hold a butterfly and I love it.  It was in the water at the playground and we rescued it.  We love the butterflies.   The wings were drying.  It hopped down and hopped on the ground when I was holding it.  We let it go.  I love you.  Bye.

Good idea Mom!  Sunblock Shmunblock!

Green Anole

       5/08/06

This anole was crossing the street and I just had to catch him.  Normally anoles change colors from green to brown, but he liked me and stayed green.  I caught this one by myself.  Lily liked it too.

WORMS

5/06/06

I moved the mat at the back door and found hundreds of worms.  The little ones would wiggle so fast they would dance across the patio.  Lily helped me.

Southern Toad

       3/01/2006

One night when Dad was taking me for a walk, I saw this toad jumping in the neighbor's grass.

When Uncle Thabo and I were going for a night-time walk, we found this Southern Toad.

Lizards that live in our Attic (Green Anole)

     3/21/2006

These lizards bask on the side of our house.  They change colors from green to brown.  When they feel threatened they drop their tails.

 4/22/2006

I caught this anole all by myself.  I have caught just tails before, but this is the first whole one I caught without anyone's help.

Mediterranean Gecko

     10/21/05

We just moved to Texas and were living in the hotel.  I laid down to go to bed and saw something on the ceiling.  "Hey Dad, there's a gecko."  Dad jumped up and grabbed it.  I kept it in my bug jar all night and let it go the next day.  While I was holding it, it dropped it's tail.  But that's okay because it will grow back.
